Developed in the early 1900s, this neighbourhood has many well-kept homes from the era. A successful doctor and land developer by the name of Dr. Neville James Lindsay started building his dream castle on a ridge along the river, that, sadly, he was never able to finish due to financing. The remains are still there to be viewed as an historic ruins. Rideau Park residents enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the rivers and mature trees, parks and pathway systems. The private Glencoe Club is nearby as well, as is Talisman Centre and Stanley Park. Quick access to major roadways provide quick commutes due to the fact Rideau Park is only a couple kilometres away from downtown. There’s an elementary and junior high school in the area and plenty of shops and restaurants on 4th street and along 17 Avenue.
